Is it possible to get a new xp party code for the next update? something that promotes grouping in gains aswell. at the moment, there is little to no xp to gain when in a group, no matter how many or which levels.

Ya, a lot of the XP seems currently screwed up. For instance, you get more XP from killing lizardmen than you do from the Pirates, despite the fact that the pirates are far tougher.
I gotta agree with the original poster though, as it's probably one of the biggest problems. If you make a party of 2 or 3 guys, you can't really get any XP from anything.

Look at it this way, you learn more from fighting lizardmen than pirates! >_>

And I do learn more from doing it myself than letting Ryvarrin or Maiahel do the dirty work but I'm talking in a strictly OOC manner, since it is more fun to group

Pshaw, you're just not trying to learn the right things. Now if your class advancement involved learning how to eat lizard legs, disguise yourself as a pirate, break a barstool over a man's head, set an inn on fire, all while mixing as much dirt into your hair as possible, watching Ryvarrin "do the dirty work" ( )would yield upwards of 1000xp per turn.

I'll tweak the exp scripts and modify the pirates too. As for grouping, not alot of attention has been given it since obsidian needs to fix the bug that ports the entire party if one member goes through a transition.

We really shouldn't wait on them to change the party porting thing.. as it stands now, the existing problem is bigger than the porting bug is.
You either RP with other people, or you advance your level on your own.. there's really no middleground currently. You can't RP while hunting, because no one gains any XP. This kind of bites, because I don't really like hacking apart monsters by myself over and over, and would much rather RP with other folks.

I guess that if two level 1 characters killed a pirate captain thenmaybe, but in most cases, there is zero xp.

My guy is level 7 now.. and the pirates can kill me fairly easilly if I'm not really on my toes. But even alone I only get something like 6 xp per Pirate. If I group with anyone, I get 0.

huh, those pirates are really busted then. I'll be fixing them and balancing how much exp they give. I think their CR isn't being properly calculated.(that's been going on alot lately with some of the new creatures I've been making, for some reason the toolset likes to dumb down their cr when I'm not looking, even after I set them to their appropriate numbers :/ kinda like the instability of setting the colors.)

The pirate captains always gave Ryvarrin some of the best xp on the server before he hit the cap.
I remember the regular pirates that spawn with them as giving next to nothing though.

The regular pirates give the exact amount of XP kobolds do. So, pirates are as tough as kobolds!.. theoretically.

Ya, this is my experience... which is why I never bother fighting the pirates, unless I want some cheap healing potions. But even then, I don't really need to fight the pirates.. I just pick their pockets.

You can perfectly well RP and dungeon crawl for XP at the same time... you just dont use the Group function. The drawback is of course that its easier to loose track of where the rest of the party are, and the XP will not be split fairly (it all goes to whoever makes the kill). Oh and AOE spells. Gotta be carefull with them fireballs.
Hmmm I tought the group transitioning was MEANT to work that way... :s
